Stuart Tripp

Stuart is an Australian cyclist, who represented his country at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Tripp was born in Traralgon, Victoria and lived a relatively easy life until the age of 23. A tragic car accident, involving neither drugs nor alcohol, left Tripp in a coma for several weeks and ultimately resulted in the amputation of his right leg. Since the accident, Tripp has made sure not to let a handicap define him. He competed in the New York City Marathon in the wheelchair class and is an H4 classified cyclist. After turning to cigarettes immediately after the accident to cope with the new changes in his life, Tripp confidently believes that cycling saved his life and got him back on the right path. As a result, he shares his story with schools to try to inspire young people not to let any tragedies that may occur in life get them down. Tripp is so adamant on being able to do anything he puts his mind to that he has even earned his plumbing license and works as a certified plumber back in Northcote, Victoria.
