About Tara Dakides
Tara Dakides is a professional snowboarder from California. She has competed in a variety ofevents, such as the X games. Growing up, Dakides participated in a variety of sports, rangingfrom motorcross to surfing. This extreme background gave Dakides a leg up on the competitionwhen she competed in the 1999 Winter X Games, an event in which she won a silver medal anda gold medal in two different events. At the 2000 Winter X Games, Dakides would go on to wintwo gold medals, while gaining another gold in 2001, giving her four gold medals and a silvermedal in just three Winter X Games. Along with competing, Dakides is also a participant in thebusiness side of sports, starting the O-Matic Snowboards Company.
