About Teresa Edwards
Teresa Edwards is a former WNBA and ABL guard and current WNBA assistant coach. After afour year career at the University of Georgia in which she was a two time All-American,Edwards debuted in the ABL for the Atlanta Glory. Her career in the ABL translated over to herbeing drafted to the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA in 2003, even though Edwards was 38 yearsold. This move did not work very well for Minnesota, as Edwards only played two seasons in theWNBA before being cut. In 2006, Edwards returned to the Lynx in an assistant coaching role,translating to her being hired as the Tulsa Shock’s head coach in 2011, only to be firedafter a 2-21 start. What sets Edwards as one of the greats is her international play for the United Statesnational team. Edwards competed in multiple Olympics and FIBA World Championships,winning eight gold medals over her illustrious international career.Edwards is now an assistantcoach for the Atlanta Glory, and was elected to the Woman’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
