About Tim Cluess
With Tim Cluess running the Iona basketball program, the Gaels have been a perennial postseason participant. In each of Cluess first six seasons, Iona won at least 20 games. They have made three NCAA Tournaments under his watch and won either the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season or tournament titlefive times. Cluess was also named MAAC Coach of the Year following the 2013-14 season. Prior to arriving at Iona, he was a head coach on the college level at C.W. Post and Suffolk Community College. Cluess early coaching success came as the head coach of Saint Mary's High School in Manhassat, New York. He spent 14 seasons there and collected four Class A New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association championships. Over 50 of his players went on to receive college scholarships, including future San Antonio Spurs sharpshooter Danny Green.
