Tim Flannery

Tim Flannery is one of the all-time favorites among the San Diego Padres faithful. He played his entire 11-year career with the franchise from 1979-89. The Padres originally selected Flannery in the sixth round of the 1978 MLB Draft. He hit over .345 in each of his first two minor league seasons before receiving a September call-up in 1979. Flannery was part of a San Diego team that reached the 1984 World Series. He had the best season of his career in 1985 when he hit .281 with 40 RBI and 50 runs scored. After his playing career, he went on to coach in the San Diego minor league system. From 1996-2002, Flannery served as a third base coach for the Padres. He followed manager Bruce Bochy in 2007 when Bochy was named manager of the San Francisco Giants. Flannery was on the coaching staff for three Giants World Series wins. He retired from coaching in 2014. Flannery has also had stints as a broadcaster for San Francisco and the MLB Network.
