About Tim Montgomery
The title, “Fastest Man in the World” is not given out lightly, but former American sprinter Tim Montgomery once held that title. In 2002 he set the world record in the 100 meter dash with a blazing time of 9.78. His record came after helping Team USA to a silver medal in the 4x100 meter relay at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games and a Gold Medal in the 4x100 meter relay in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. On an international level Montgomery dominated in the late 90’s, winning a bronze medal at the 1997 Athens World Championships and helping Team USA to another gold at the 1999 World Championships. Montgomery is widely considered to be one of the most accomplished athletes in American Olympic history.
