About Tom Chambers
Tom Chambers played in the NBA for 16 seasons after being selected in the 1st round by the San Diego Clippers in the 1981 NBA Draft. While in college Chambers experienced every basketball players dream when he grew six inhcues during his sophomore year, making him an impressive 6’10 and leading to his promising NBA career. While in the NBA he played for the Clippers, Seattle Super Sonics, Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers and finished his career with four NBA All-Star selections and two All-NBA Second Team honors. For his contributions to the Phoenix Suns from 1988 to 1993 the franchise retired his No. 24 jersey shortly after his retirement in 1997. When all was said and done, Chambers had scored over 20,000 points and posted 6,703 rebounds to go along with over 2,000 assists, making him one of the most dynamic players of his era. Upon his retirement he rejoined the Suns as a community relations representative.
