About Tony Gonzalez
While he is now retired, Tony Gonzalez is a former tight end in the National Football League. He began his career by playing in college at the University of California, Berkeley. In his time as part of the Golden Bears football team he was recognized as an All-Pac-10 and All-American Selection. Gonzalez declared for the draft and became the 13th overall selection in the 1997 NFL Draft going to the Kansas City Chiefs. In his career Tony claimed the record for most touchdown receptions and total reception yards by a tight end, a record he still holds. He was named a Pro Bowl selection 14 times, which ties the record for most appearances by a player. Tony is also a ten time All-Pro, a two time NFL Alumni Tight End of the Year, the Pro Bowl all-time receptions leader, and became the first tight end to ever catch 1,000 passes.
