About Trea Turner
Trea Turner is a standout shortstop for the Philadelphia Phillies. Turner originally debuted with the Washington Nationals late in the 2016 season and was named National League Rookie of the Month that August after hitting .357. He also finished second in NL Rookie of the Year voting. Turner continued to develop into a solid major league contributor and led the league with 49 stolen bases in 2018. He has also hit for the cycle three times in his career. Turner had his best offensive season in 2019, hitting .298 with 19 home runs and 35 steals while helping Washington win the World Series. He was named to his first All-Star team in 2021 before being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers at midyear. Prior to entering the professional ranks, he was a first-team All-ACC performer at NC State. The San Diego Padres selected him in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft. Turner was traded to the Nationals after his first minor league season.
