About Tyler Seguin
Born in Ontario, Canada, Tyler Seguin chose to pass on the opportunity to play NCAA hockey and instead played his junior career with the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL. With the Whalers, Seguin initially struggled but a dedicated offseason before the 2009 season led him to revamp his game and lead the OHL in points by the end of the 09-10 season. Going into the 2010 NHL Draft, he was the number 1 overall prospect but fell to the 2nd pick to the Boston Bruins. As a rookie, Seguin saw his fair share of time on the ice and notched 7 points in the playoffs as the Bruins captured the Stanley Cup. Seguin continued to see increased playing time at the centre position and helped the Bruins reach their second Stanley Cup Finals in three seasons in 2013 but fell to the Chicago Blackhawks in six games. Following the 2013 season, he was traded to the Dallas Stars where he had a breakout year, finishing 4th in the NHL in points with 84.
