Vaughn Taylor

Raised in Augusta, Georgia, Vaughn Taylor had been dreaming about the glories of professional golf long before most kids did. He succeeded at the high school level and went on to play for Augusta State University where as a senior he received honorable mention for All-American honors. Following his college career in 1999, Taylor turned professional as a member of the NGA Hooters Tour. He went on to win 4 times on the Hooters Tour before moving up to the Nationwide Tour where he again found success by winning the 2003 Knoxville Open. In 2004, Taylor joined the PGA Tour for the first time and opened with a bang by winning the 2004 Reno-Tahoe Open. The following season, he returned to Tahoe to defend his title, giving him his second PGA career win in as many years. Due to his early success on Tour, Taylor earned a spot on the 2006 Ryder Cup team and made an appearance in the top 40 of the Official World Golf Rankings. Although he hasn’t fared well in most major tournaments, he did have a T-10th finish at Augusta National, right down the road from his childhood home, at the 2007 Masters Tournament.
