About Vinny Castilla
Vinny Castilla is a former professional baseball player of the MLB that played from 1991-2006 and made a name for himself as a member of the original Colorado Rockies starting in 1993. He compiled 3 straight seasons of over 40 home runs and 5 straight seasons of over 100 RBIs and is still ranked in the top 10 of most offensive statistical categories for the Rockies’ franchise. He was a 2x All-Star throughout his career and was awarded 3 Silver Slugger Awards. Castilla finished his playing career in 2006 with career numbers of 320 home runs, 1,105 RBIs, with a batting average of .276. Following his playing days, Castilla began a career as a manager and in 2007 was named the manager of the Mexican team for the Pan American Games, a position he held again for the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
