About Wally Dallenbach Jr.
Wally Dallenbach Jr. is an American racecar driver best known for running in NASCAR’s Winston Cup Series from 1991-2001. Dallenbach had 23 top ten finishes in 226 races. In NASCAR, he became the second driver other than the legendary Richard Petty to race in the #43 car. Some of his greatest successes in racing came in sports car racing. Dallenbach won two Trans-Am Series championships, had four wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona, and three wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring. He was the youngest driver to capture a Trans-Am title in 1985 and was also the series’ Rookie of the Year in 1984. Dallenbach has been a racing commentator for NBC and TNT. He is currently out of the broadcast booth and attempting a return to competition in the Trans-Am Series. His father, Wally Sr., was a noted Indy Car driver and motorcycle enthusiast. The family trade has carried on to a new generation with daughter Kate driving Late Model Stock Cars.
