About Wes Short
Wes Short has competed on the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, and currently the Champions Tour. Short was a 40 year old rookie on the PGA Tour and in his second season beat Jim Furyk in a sudden-death playoff at the Michelin Championship. He just recently joined the Champions Tour and picked up a victory at the 2014 Quebec Championship. Coming from behind, Short eagled the final hole to win by one stroke over Scott Dunlap in Quebec City. It was the first PGA Tour event in the region since 1956. He has overcome back injuries and 12 trips to Q-School to keep his golf career alive. While he turned pro in 1987, Short did not start touring until ten years later. He mostly worked as a club pro in Austin, Texas, the city he was born, raised, and currently lives in. Naturally, he attended the University of Texas.
