Former NFL quarterback Jake Locker may no longer be on a football field, but he is still trying to live an impactful life. On September 11th, he will speak at Mount Vernon Church of the Nazarene in Washington.
Locker's appearance is part of the church's Fall Kick-Off. The event begins at 10 a.m.
Locker will certainly address what caused him to step away from football. He will also talk about how faith helped him in that decision and in his post-football pursuits.
For four seasons, Locker played for the Tennessee Titans. He was originally selected eighth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft out of the University of Washington.
Locker was the starter for the Huskies for four seasons. He had a strong debut, being named a Freshman All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 2007.
In 2010, Locker won his final college game at the Holiday Bowl. He came to UW as a much-hyped recruit after a banner prep career at Ferndale High School.
