One of the more important players in the recent history of the Detroit Tigers returns to Comerica Park on Saturday. Catcher Ivan Rodriguez is making an appearance at an autograph signing at the stadium.
The session begins at 9 a.m. at the Tigers team store, The D Shop. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go towards the Detroit Tigers Foundation.
Tickets for the signing must be acquired in advance. They are $100 for outside items with a special $20 for any inscriptions.
Rodriguez played for the Tigers from 2004-2008. He made three straight American League All-Star teams and captures three of his record 13 Gold Gloves for a catcher while in Detroit.
Overall, Rodriguez was a 14-time All-Star. Many of those appearances came in the decade tenure he spent to begin his career with the Texas Rangers.
In 1999, Rodriguez hit .332 with 35 home runs and 112 RBI on the way to AL MVP honors. He is a member of the Rangers Hall of Fame and will become eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame next year.
