About Ivan Rodriguez
Ivan Rodriguez is a retired catcher for Major League Baseball. Rodriguez began playing baseball at a young age and while playing Little League baseball, Rodriguez was moved from pitcher to catcher. At 16 years old, Rodriguez signed a contract with the Texas Rangers and began his professional career. Rodriguez made his professional debut with the Gastonia Rangers in 1989 at the age of 17. On June 20, 1991, Rodriguez made his debut with the Texas Rangers and became the youngest person to catch in a major league game that season at 19 years old. Rodriguez was also the youngest player in Texas Rangers history to hit a home run. Rodriguez played for the Rangers until 2002. He then played for the Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers and Washington Nationals. He was a 14x All-Star, 13x Golden Glove Award winner, and 7x Silver Slugger Award winner, AL MVP, NLCS MVP and World Series Champion.
