There is no better figure from the world of sports to speak at an event than New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. The Northwest Louisiana Best of Preps banquet has the honor of welcoming Brees as their keynote speaker on May 16th beginning at 7 p.m.
The event will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center. Best of Preps hand awards out to local high school athletes in a variety of categories.
Athletes that make The Shreveport Times' All-City or All-Area teams receive one free ticket. Other tickets are available under early bird pricing of $50 and Brees will hold a special VIP event with sponsors an hour prior to the beginning of the banquet.
Brees is one of the most prolific quarterbacks in NFL history. He currently ranks fourth in league history in passing yards and is tied for third in passing touchdowns.
Since joining the Saints in 2006, Brees has thrown for over 4,000 yards each season. He led New Orleans to their first and only Super Bowl championship in 2009 and was named MVP of the game.
Brees is a two-time Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl nine times and is a four-time All-Pro.
