New UCF Football Coach Josh Heupel to Address Orlando Touchdown Club After Spring Practice

After a 13-0 2017 season, UCF football opened their spring practice schedule under new coach Josh Heupel. The Knights will have 14 practices before he takes part in one of his first official speaking engagements in the Orlando area.

Heupel will get to recap the progress the team made over the spring as a speaker at the Orlando Touchdown Club's next meeting. The event takes place on April 23 at Dubsdread Golf Club.

Orlando Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi will serve as master of ceremonies for the meeting and UCF broadcaster Marc Daniels will introduce Heupel. It will be a great evening for Knights fans to hear from the new coach and for football fans in Central Florida to get better acquainted with him.

Heupel embarks on his first season as a head coach after guiding one of the top offenses in the country at Missouri. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Oklahoma, in 2004.

Heupel went on to serve as Sooners quarterbacks coach from 2006-10 and co-offensive coordinator from 2011-14. He has also coached at Arizona and Utah State.

Heupel began his college playing career at Weber State before exploding onto the scene at Oklahoma. He was runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 2000 and led the Sooners to a national championship.
