About Allen Bailey
Allen Bailey is a defensive end for the Kansas City Chiefs. Bailey was originally drafted out the University of Miami in the 3rd round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Bailey experienced a breakout season in 2014, his first year as a starter in Kansas City. He more than doubled his total career sack output in one season. Reports in the offseason credited Bailey with putting on weight to push harder towards a starting spot. Prior to 2014, Bailey was mostly a rotational player. At UM, he made 27 starts, was a two-time All-ACC pick, and became the first college graduate in his family. Bailey had a unique upbringing, growing up in the Hog Hammock community on Sapelo Island, Georgia. The island can only be reached by boat or plane, so he road a ferry daily to get to school. The village celebrated “Allen Bailey Day” on April 7, 2012.
