About Andy Green
Andy Green was the manager of the San Diego Padres from 2016-19. He was originally hired in 2016 after spending the 2015 season as a third base coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Green had previous success on the minor league level as a manager. He won the Pioneer League Championship in 2012 and was named Southern League Manager of the Year in 2013 and 2014. Green had a brief four-year major league playing career with the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets. He also spent a season in Japan playing for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters. The Diamondbacks originally selected him in the 24th round of the 2000 MLB Draft. Green played college baseball at the University of Kentucky, where he still holds records for career hits and runs scored. In 2015, he was inducted into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame.
