About Anthony Bowie
Anthony Bowie has played basketball all around the world, but is most known from his five seasons with the Orlando Magic. Bowie was a key rotation player for the Magic as they made their rise in the mid-90s. During his first season in 1991-92, he averaged a career-high 14.6 points per game. Bowie saw his minutes decrease with the arrival of Penny Hardaway in Orlando, but was an important contributor in the franchise’s run to the NBA Finals in 1995 and Eastern Conference Finals in 1996. Bowie had limited stints in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, and New York Knicks. He played in the CBA and also internationally in Italy, Lithuania, Greece, and Russia. Bowie is a basketball instructor at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando and holds his annual summer camp with the JCC. A Tulsa, Oklahoma native, he attended college at the University of Oklahoma.
