About Archie Griffin
As the only two-time winner of the Heisman Trophy, Archie Griffin is one of the all-time greats in college football. Griffin was a four-year starter at running back for Ohio State. His 5,589 rushing yards were at the time an NCAA record. The Buckeyes won four straight Big 10 titles with Griffin in the backfield and he became the first player to ever start in four Rose Bowls. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1986 and named the Rose Bowl’s All-Century Player in 2014. In addition to his Heismans, Griffin won two Big 10 MVPs, two Walter Camp awards, and the Maxwell Award. He went on to be a first round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 1976 and play seven seasons with the team. Griffin is currently the President and CEO of the Ohio State Alumni Association and a co-owner of Minor League Baseball’s Dayton Dragons. He is a spokesman for Wendy’s High School Heisman.
