About Bill Cubit
Bill Cubit is the current assistant head football coach at his alma mater, the University of Delaware. Cubit was previously the head coach at Widener University, Western Michigan University and the University of Illinois. In his playing days, Bill was a three sport athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball in high school. In college he set records for catches in a game and season for the University of Delaware program. Cubit's coaching career has spanned several decades since his start in 1975. He has been a part of programs including Rutgers, Stanford, and the University of Florida. As the offensive coordinator and quarterback's coach for the University of Illinois, Bill was part of a substantial improvement in the team. In his first season the team rose from a 119th place ranking in yards and points up to 52nd in yards and 61st in points. He served as the Illini interim head coach in 2015. Bill's other accomplishments include an 90-72-1 record as a head coach, two MAC Commonwealth Championships and he was awarded as the MAC Coach of the Year in 2005.
