About Britt Reid
Britt Reid is a former NFL coach, best known as the son of Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. He joined the Chiefs' staff in 2013, rising to outside linebackers coach by 2018, and contributed to their Super Bowl LIV victory in 2020. His career ended abruptly after a February 4, 2021, drunk-driving crash near Arrowhead Stadium, severely injuring a 5-year-old girl with traumatic brain injury, plus others. Pleading guilty to felony DWI causing serious injury, he was sentenced to three years in prison in 2022 but served 16 months before Missouri Gov. Mike Parson commuted his sentence in March 2024. Since release, Reid has focused on recovery, remaining sober for over four years, serving on the American Addiction Recovery Association board, and speaking at college programs to prevent similar mistakes and promote accountability.
