About Bruce Bochy
Bruce Bochy played nine seasons in the big leagues with the Houston Astros, New York Mets and San Diego Padres from 1978 to 1987 before beginning his professional managing career in the minor leagues in 1991. After coaching in the minors for four years the San Diego Padres hired him as their new manager in 1995 and went on to earn NL Manager of the Year honors in 1996.
Bochy managed the Padres for 12 seasons from 1995 to 2006 and accumulated the most wins in Padres history. In 2007, the San Francisco Giants tapped him as their new manager and he took the franchise to new heights, winning three World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Among his many honors as a manager, he was selected to manage the National League All-Star teams in 1999, 2011, and 2013 and was awarded the Ronald L. Jensen Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2011.
