About Bryce Drew
Bryce Drew grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana and played his collegiate ball in his hometown at Valparaiso University. From 1994 to 1998 he was a two-time Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year which set him up to become a first round selection of the Houston Rockets in the 1998 NBA Draft. Upon joining the Rockets he played two seasons in Houston and then saw time with the Chicago Bulls before heading to Charlotte Hornets from 2001 to 2004. After briefly playing overseas in Italy and Spain he decided to pursue a coaching career, returning to Valparaiso in 2005 as an assistant and eventually rising to the head coaching position in 2011. Over five seasons at the helm, he led his alma mater to 124 wins and two NCAA tournament appearances. In his first season as the head coach at Vanderbilt, he helped the Commodores reach the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Drew spent two more seasons at Vandy and was named the head coach at Grand Canyon University in 2020.
