About Buck Martinez
Buck Martinez is the definition of a baseball lifer. Martinez had a 17-year playing career. During his time in the big leagues, he was known as a solid defensive catcher. In retirement, Martinez became a top baseball broadcaster. He started off calling games on radio for the Toronto Blue Jays and eventually moved over to television with TSN. As he grew in popularity, Martinez was named Blue Jays manager in 2001. He spent parts of two seasons leading the club and went 100-115. He also coached Team USA to a 3-3 record in the first World Baseball Classic in 2006. After leaving the bench, Martinez went back to broadcasting, working Baltimore Orioles games on TV from 2003-2009. He then returned to calling Blue Jays games in 2010.
