Butch Davis

Butch Davis played defensive back at the University of Arkansas during his college days and would eventually become one of the top coaches in the game at the high school, college and professional levels.  He got his start in coaching at Fayetteville High School in 1973 and coached at four different high schools during the 70’s before being hired as an assistant coach at Oklahoma State University in 1979.  After four seasons at Oklahoma State he left to serve as the defensive line coach at the University of Miami and helped the Hurricanes to an NCAA National Championship in 1987.  In 1989 he was hired as an assistant with the Dallas Cowboys and helped America’s team to back-to-back Super Bowl titles before returning to the University of Miami as their new head coach in 1995.  During his time at the University of Miami he won 51 games in seven seasons including a Big East Championship and Sugar Bowl win in 2000.   In 2001 he took over as the head coach and general manager of the Cleveland Browns before eventually returning to the college game as the head coach at the University of North Carolina in 2007 where he coached for three seasons.  From 2012 to 2013 he briefly served as an advisor for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization.
