About Carl Edwards
Carl Edwards is a NASCAR legend and one of the greatest drivers of his generation, with 28 wins in the Cup Series. Edwards attended the University of Missouri to study engineering, but he decided to pursue a career in racing. Before becoming a full-time driver, Edwards was a substitute teacher.
In 2002, Edwards had his big break as he competed in seven NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events. Edwards became a full-time driver in the NEXTEL Cup and the Busch Series in 2005. He broke through even more with his Busch Series championship in 2007.
Edwards went on to greatness at the highest level of NASCAR and became known for his trademark backflip off his car after victories. He nearly won the 2011 Cup Series championship, losing in a tiebreaker to Tony Stewart. Edwards was named to NASCAR's 75 Greatest Drivers list in 2023 and two years later, he was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
