Carlos Correa Biography

Carlos Correa is one of the most exciting players in baseball. Correa was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft out of Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. The shortstop took baseball by storm when he was called up by the Houston Astros on June 8th, 2015. He got his first hit that day and the next day had his first home run and stolen base. Through 15 career games, he collected an Astros record 20 hits. That first month, Correa was awarded with the American League Rookie of the Month trophy. His success kept going through his rookie year as he helped the upstart Astros in the playoff race. He was also named AL Rookie of the Year. 

Correa went on to be named an All-Star twice while in Houston. In 2017, the Astros won their first World Series. He also became a Gold Glove Award winner for the first time in 2021 before joining the Minnesota Twins the following offseason.
