About Chris Mack
Chris Mack is the head men's basketball coach at Charleston. Mack orginally garnered tremendous respect taking over as the head coach at his alma mater, Xavier.Mack piloted the Musketeers to eight NCAA Tournaments in nine years. On four occasions, he advanced at least as far as the Sweet Sixteen.
In 2018, Mack's Musketeers squad won the Big East regular season championship and he was named Coach of the Year in the conference. Before they entered the Big East, Xavier won the Atlantic-10 regular-season title twice under his guidance, with Mack earning A10 Coach of the Year in 2011.He went on to spend parts of four seasons as the head coach at Louisville.
Mack spent the majority of his coaching career at his alma mater and first joined the staff as the Director of Basketball Operations in 1999.Mack also was an assistant for four years at Wake Forest and had several high school coaching jobs following his collegiate playing career.He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but went to St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati.
