About Chris Simms
Chris Simms is a retired NFL quarterback who currently serves as an analyst for NBC Sports. Simms is involved as an analyst for Football Night in America and ProFootballTalk Live. He also adds commentary for NBC's coverage of Notre Dame Football. Simms started his media career in 2013 with Fox Sports and also spent time with Bleacher Report. He has previously spent seven years in the NFL, including five seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Simms had his best season in 2005, when he started 11 games and led the Buccaneers to their first playoff appearance in three years. Tampa Bay originally selected him out of the University of Texas in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft. Simms had a successful college career, going 26-6 for the Longhorns as a starter. He set several records, including the single-season passing touchdown mark and career passer rating.
