About Chuba Hubbard
The Carolina Panthers employ Chuba Hubbard as their starting running back and Canadian professional football player. Chuba Hubbard was born on June 11, 1999, in Edmonton, Alberta, before attending Bev Facey Community High School and later playing college football at Oklahoma State. During the 2019 season Hubbard became the NCAA football leader in rushing yards with 2,094 yards while winning the Jon Cornish Trophy as Canada's top NCAA football player.
The Panthers selected Hubbard during their fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The team found him as a dependable offensive asset after multiple running backs suffered injuries. During the 2023 and 2024 seasons Hubbard achieved 1,000 scrimmage yards in consecutive years and received NFC Offensive Player of the Week recognition for his outstanding Week 16 performance in 2024.
The Carolina Panthers signed Hubbard to a four-year $33.2 million contract extension in November 2024 to maintain his position as a key offensive player for the team. Hubbard stands out as one of the NFL's most dependable running backs because of his fast speed combined with his excellent vision and powerful playstyle.
