About Cobi Jones
Cobi Jones, a former Olympian, played for the United States national soccer team from 1992-2004. Jones was born in 1970 in Detroit, Michigan but moved to southern California at a very early age. Commencing his soccer career with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) at a mere age five, Jones was destined for a promising career in the sport. He went on to play for the UCLA soccer team before signing with English team Coventry City, Vasco da Gama, and the Los Angeles Galaxy throughout his years following his graduation from UCLA. Jones went on to be named the MLS Best XI and U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year in 1998 under the Los Angeles Galaxy. Ten years later, he went back to manage the Galaxy as an interim and assistant. Jones has since become the analyst for the Los Angeles Galaxy on Time Warner Cable SportsNet. In addition, Jones was honorably inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame his first year of eligibility in 2011.
