About Corey Dickerson
Corey Dickerson is an outfielder for the Miami Marlins. He grew up in Brookhaven, Mississippi and went to Brookhaven Academy. There he set single-season and career private school state records for home runs. Despite being drafted by the Colorado Rockies, Dickerson went on to Meridian Community College. He hit .459 with 21 homers as a freshman and the Rockies selected him again in the eighth round of the 2010 MLB Draft. Dickerson made his major league debut in Colorado in 2013. In 2014, Dickerson played in 131 games, hitting .312 with 24 home runs and 76 RBI. He was traded to the Rays during the 2016 offseason and early on in 2017, he led the majors in several key hitting categories. His .325 batting average and 17 home runs at the All-Star break led to him being the first Rays player to start in the All-Star Game since 2010. Dickerson spent the next two seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates, hitting at least .300 each year and winning a Gold Glove in 2018. He was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies for the 2019 campaign before joining the Marlins in 2020.
