Corey Maggette

Corey Maggette is an outstanding basketball player who serves as a small forward and shooting guard in the NBA. Growing up in Illinois in the 1980’s, Maggette was an All-American in high school basketball and went on to play for Duke University. Maggette left Duke before the end of his athletic eligibility, becoming one of the few players to do so. He debuted professionally in 1999 with the Orlando Magic and has played for a variety of teams since. Spending a large chunk of his career with the Los Angeles Clippers, Maggette led the team to win their first playoff game in 13 years. He then became a Golden State Warrior for two years, a Milwaukee Buck, a Charlotte Bobcat, a Detroit Piston and is currently a free agent. Some of Maggette’s most notable career accomplishments include being the Clippers’ career leader in free throws made and attempted. One of his most admirable accomplishments outside of his career includes his establishment of the “Corey Cares Foundation”. Maggette established this foundation to benefit the less fortunate in his community. All those who know Maggette know that this exemplifies just the type of person he is on and off the court.
