About Curtis Strange
Curtis Strange is a professional golfer most recently recognized for his time competing on the Champions Tour. Formerly competing on the PGA Tour for the majority of his career, Strange turned professional in 1976. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia with an identical twin brother, who also picked up golf, as their father was the owner of a country club nearby. Strange attended and played for Wake Forest University in the 1970’s. At Wake Forest, a weekly magazine known as Golf World labeled him the “greatest of all time”. The 1980’s were good to Strange, as he obtained 16 of his 17 professional wins with the PGA Tour. That same decade, he went down in history while he became the first man to win a million dollars in official money on the Tour in a season. Not surprisingly, he was the leading money winner in the PGA Tour in 1985, 1987, and 1988 along with the PGA Player of the Year in 1988. With 28 professional wins under his belt, Strange continues to gold on the Champions Tour to date and was also inducted in the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2007.
