About Damon Harrison
Damon Harrison is an NFL nose tackle who currently plays for the Detroit-Lions. Originally a high school basketball player, Harrison decided to pursue football during his senior year. This move would prove to pay dividends to Harrison, as he was named the team’s captain and defensive MVP in his only season. Following his graduation, Harrison enrolled at Northwest Mississippi Community College, eventually dropping out after his first semester. Fortunately for Harrison, a former NMCC assistant coach recruited him to play football at William Penn University, where he would lead the team in tackles and be named an All American during his senior year. After graduating from William Penn, Harrison entered the 2012 NFL Draft, but he was undrafted, eventually signing with the New York Jets. In 2013, Harrison started all 16 games, recording 66 tackles, 2 passes defended, and one sack.
