About Dan Hoard
Dan Hoard is an acclaimed American sportscaster, renowned as the radio voice of the Cincinnati Bengals since 2011, partnering with Dave Lapham on the Cincinnati flagship station. A Syracuse University alumnus, he began his career as the radio play-by-play announcer for the Syracuse Chiefs minor league baseball team, earning induction into the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame for his early work. Hoard's Cincinnati journey started in 1995 as sports director at WXIX-TV, where he anchored and reported. He became the radio voice of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats football and men's basketball in 2000, calling iconic moments like the 2021 upset over Notre Dame and the 2021 Peach Bowl victory, earning him induction into the 2019 UC Athletics Hall of Fame as a contributor. From 2006-2011, he broadcast Pawtucket Red Sox games, filling in on Cincinnati Reds telecasts. Hoard maintains a blog, "Heard It From Hoard," blending humor and insights. In 2025, he received Syracuse's Dick Glickman Award for excellence.
