About Dan Marino
When it comes to quarterbacks, Dan Marino is the gold standard. Although he was the last quarterback to be selected in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft, he went on to break 37 NFL records and tie nine more while leading the Miami Dolphins to 10 playoff appearances in 17 years.
When looking at his resume, which includes nine Pro Bowl selections, eight All-Pro nods, the 1983 NFL Rookie of the Year Award and the 1984 NFL MVP Award, it would be impossible to deny that Marino is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. But thatÕs only the beginning.
After his career came to an end in 1999, the honors began rolling in. After the University of Pittsburgh retired his #13 jersey the Miami Dolphins followed suit, showing their appreciation for all he accomplished and all he brought to the table for their teams. This culminated in the ultimate honor for Marino, being inducted into both the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
Since he left the gridiron, Marino has remained in the spotlight, appearing on television shows and movies, and serving as an expert football analyst and color commentator on CBS and HBO. Currently, Marino serves as a special advisor for his former team, the Miami Dolphins.
