Danielle Lawrie is a professional softball player who has spent time at the collegiate, professional, and national levels of the sport. In 2006, Lawrie chose to attend the University of Washington to play for their softball team. She became one of the greatest pitchers in college softball history. Lawrie ranks fourth in NCAA history in career strikeouts and sixth in wins. She was a two-time Honda Player of the Year and Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year. During her junior and senior seasons, she put together a 21-game winning streak. Lawrie's run began during the 2009 Women's College World Series, which was won by the Huskies. She was named WCWS MVP. She also competed for the Canadian national team beginning in 2005 and participated in the 2008 Olympics. After her college career, Lawrie spent four years playing professionally for the USSSA Pride. She won two league championships and racked up a 23-9 career record with a 2.59 ERA.
