About Danny White
Danny White is a former NFL quarterback and coach in the Arena Football League. White got his start as a player with Arizona State University, serving as the team’s quarterback and punter. His career as a Sun Devil would be legendary, as he compiled a 33-4 overall record with three Fiesta Bowl victories, along with setting seven NCAA passing records. His number 11 was retired by the school due to his career, and he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame following his graduation. In the 1974 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected White in the third round, initially just wanting him to be a punter. Not wanting to give up his QB career, White signed with the WFL instead, throwing for over 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns in two seasons. After the WFL folded, White signed with the Cowboys, becoming the team’s starting quarterback in 1980. In 12 seasons with the Cowboys, White threw for 21,959 yards and 155 touchdowns, along with a Pro Bowl selection in 1982 and a Super Bowl victory in 1977.
