About Dave Kingman
Dave Kingman was one of the most dominant major league power hitters of his era. From 1971 to 1986 he played for the San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, San Diego Padres, California Angels, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, and Oakland Athletics and tallied 442 homeruns to go along with 1,210 RBI and 1,575 runs scored in 1,941 career games over 16 seasons. Prior to making it big in the major leagues he played his college ball at the University of Southern California, where he earned All-American honors in 1970 while leading his team to the College World Series. In 1970 he was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the MLB Draft and made his big league debut just one season later. During his career he earned three All-Star selections, led the NL with 48 homeruns in 1979 and 37 homeruns in 1982, and earned AL Comeback Player of the Year honors in 1984 after hitting .268 with 35 homeruns and 118 RBI. With 400 homeruns, he is considered one of the top home run hitters of all-time.
