About Dave Trembley
Dave Trembley is a graduate of State University of New York, where he earned his bachelors in physical education and master’s in education. He got his start in coaching as the head coach at Daniel Murphy High School in Los Angeles and went on to serve in that same role at Antelope Valley College in Los Angeles from 1980 to 1984. In 1984 he was hired as a scout with the Chicago Cubs and eventually became an instructor in the Cubs minor league system. Over the next 21 years he managed in the Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, and Baltimore Orioles minor league systems before being named the manager of the Baltimore Orioles in 2007. Trembley coached in the big leagues with the Orioles for four seasons from 2007 to 2010 before signing on as an assistant coach with the Houston Astros in 2013. Trembley is a member of the Lancaster JetHawks Hall of Fame, Antelope Valley College Sports Hall of Fame and Florida State League Hall of Fame. He is widely considered to be one of the best baseball managers of all-time, especially at the minor league level.
