About David Denson
David Denson is the first openly-gay player in affiliated professional baseball. He plays in the Milwaukee Brewers system and came out to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel in August 2015. That announcement came on the heels of Denson’s appearance in the Pioneer League All-Star Game. He earned MiLB.com’s Top Star for the game when he went 2-3 with a pinch-hit homerun. The Brewers originally selected Denson in the 15th round of the 2013 MLB Draft. He played high school baseball at South Hills in West Covina, California and originally committed to the University of Hawaii. Denson is hoping that his power at the plate will help him ultimately advance to the major leagues.
