About David Wells
David Wells pitched for 21 seasons in the big leagues with ten different teams from 1987 to 2007 and is considered to be the best left-handed pitcher of his era. Wells made his MLB debut in 1987 with the Blue Jays and pitched his first six seasons in Toronto, helping his team to a World Series title in 1992. From 1993 to 1996 he pitched for the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles before landing in New York with the Yankees in 1997. During his time with the Yankees pitched a perfect game in 1998 and helped his team to a World Series title that year while also earning ALCS MVP honors. In 1999 he returned to the Blue Jays and pitched two more seasons in Toronto. From 1995 to 2000 he earned three All-Star selections with the Reds, Yankees and Blue Jays. He’d go on to pitched for the Chicago White Sox, San Diego Padres, Red Sox, and Dodgers for the next seven seasons until retiring in 2007 with 239 career wins and 2,201 career strikeouts. After his retirement he joined the MLB on TBS team as a commentator and expert baseball analyst and also serves as the host of “The Cheap Seats” on Fox Sports
