Dwight E. Davis

Dwight E. Davis was once one of the most promising young stars in basketball. He was a standout at the University of Houston and was inducted into the school's Hall of Honor in 2006. The Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the third overall pick in the 1972 NBA Draft. Davis spent the first three seasons with the Cavaliers and was named to the All-Rookie Team in 1973. He went on to play two seasons with the Golden State Warriors before suffering a career-ending injury. Davis has devoted his post-playing career to working with at-risk teams. In 2007, Davis was named to the New Hampshire Workforce Youth Council and he became chair of the group a year later. He was the recipient of the Jobs for America's Graduates' National Workforce Leadership award in 2009 and Rotary International's Paul Harris Fellowship award. Davis has served on the board of the Greater Seacoast United Way and the United Way Mass Bay. He is a member of the Seacoast Board of Realtors.
