About Ed Jovanovski
After a stellar major juniors career, Ed Jovanovski was selected first overall in the 1994 NHL Draft by the Florida Panthers. In his very first season with the Panthers, Jovanovski earned All-Rookie Team honors and helped lead them to a Stanley Cup Finals appearance where they eventually lost. Known for his versatile play, Jovanovski routinely led his teams in scoring for the defenseman. Jovanovski has played for two other teams in his 20 year NHL career and is currently a free agent. As a Canadian national, Jovanovski has played for his countrys national team since his junior days. With the Canadian national team, he has gold medals in the World Junior Championships, the World Cup, and in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. On top of all of these accolades, Jovanovski has also been selected to 5 All-Star Games and has over 150 goals in his career.
