About Eddie Kennison
As a standout track athlete and a Parade All-American in football, Eddie Kennison had his choice of schools before ultimately choosing Louisiana State University. Kennison found success both on the field and on the track, before ultimately declaring for the NFL Draft and being selected 18th overall in the 1996 NFL Draft. Running a 4.28 in the 40 yard dash, Kennison was a speedy wide receiver that came in right away with the St. Louis Rams and led all rookies that year, including Keyshawn Johnson, in TDs with 9. Kennison went on to play a season with both the New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos, before a short retirement during the 2001 season. Kennison upset Broncos fans when he came out of retirement and signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. He stayed with the Chiefs for 7 seasons and was one of the teams most reliable receivers in that stint. Kennison played one final season with the St. Louis Rams in 2008 but signed a one-day contract with the Chiefs in 2010 so he could retire with Kansas City.
